What is Google PageRank?
Google PageRank is a measure from 0 -10. It’s show how important Google thinks a webpage is. It matters because it is one of the factors that determines a page’s ranking in the search results. It isn’t the only factor that Google uses to rank pages, but it is an important one. If a web page has a PageRank of 0/10, it is not very important. If a web page has a PageRank of 10/10, it is very important. So, PageRank is Google’s way of deciding the importance of a page.
How Google calculate PageRank?
Google PageRank is based on backlinks. Google takes into consideration many things when it is calculating PageRank, the most important factor is the amount of quality backlinks a webpage has. Backlinks are links pointing to your website from another website. The more backlinks you have the higher your PageRank will be. Generally websites with higher PageRank will get better rankings in Google’s search results. Google PageRank updates about once every three months.
How to increase Google PageRank?
The more quality backlinks a webpage has, the higher the PageRank will be, therefore you can increase Google PageRank by gaining more quality backlinks. You may increase your PageRank by getting links to your page from other pages with high PageRank. So in order to increase your PageRank faster you need to search high PageRank pages and to put your link on them.
1. Submit to search engine directories. Search engine directories are a good way to get free links to your website. They also increase your chances at being listed higher on popular search engines like Google.
1. Use blog comments and social bookmark sites to get backlinks. Just comment and bookmark and don’t forget to put your link on them.
2. Create your profiles on social network sites. Put a link to your website in your social network profiles.

Google’s Definition: PageRank As Votes
Let’s start with what Google says. In a nutshell, it considers links to be like votes. In addition, it considers that some votes are more important than others. PageRank is Google’s system of counting link votes and determining which pages are most important based on them. These scores are then used along with many other things to determine if a page will rank well in a search.

Important, high-quality sites receive a higher PageRank, which Google remembers each time it conducts a search. Of course, important pages mean nothing to you if they don’t match your query. So, Google combines PageRank with sophisticated text-matching techniques to find pages that are both important and relevant to your search. Google goes far beyond the number of times a term appears on a page and examines all dozens of aspects of the page’s content (and the content of the pages linking to it) to determine if it’s a good match for your query.
